Sector Solutions

Energy Infrastructure Built Around Agricultural Operations.

Funded Solar PV, battery storage and integrated energy solutions for wine estates, farms, packhouses, cold storage and agri-processing operations — structured around real load profiles, seasonal demand and site-specific energy economics.

Sector Challenge

Common Agricultural Sector Challenges.

Agricultural sites combine seasonal demand, pumping, processing, refrigeration and often constrained electrical infrastructure.

Seasonal demand

Harvests, processing cycles and seasonal operations can create sharp changes in electricity demand throughout the year.

Irrigation & pumping

High-demand pumping schedules can materially influence peak consumption, system sizing and energy costs.

Processing & cellar operations

Production schedules, cooling, pumping and cellar processes create critical operating periods that energy infrastructure must support.

Cold storage

Refrigeration and cold-chain operations carry sustained loads where energy cost and continuity can directly affect product and operations.

Rural infrastructure

Grid capacity, electrical infrastructure and site location can constrain how conventional energy solutions are designed and connected.

Tariff exposure

Tariff structure, time-of-use consumption and demand patterns materially affect the commercial case for generation and storage.

The Vector Solution

One Energy Platform. Structured Around the Operation.

Vector assesses how and when the site consumes electricity before determining the appropriate technology mix. Solar generation, battery storage, power conversion, grid interface, energy management and metering are then integrated according to the site's operating requirements and commercial case.

Proven In Operation

See the Platform Operating at Jordan Wine Estate.

At Jordan Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, Vector’s integrated energy platform operates across a working agricultural and hospitality environment. The site combines 490 kWp of Solar PV with 645 kWh of battery energy storage, Hybrid UPS / power conversion, grid interface, metering and monitoring within one integrated commercial energy system under a long-term PPA.

Jordan provides a practical operating reference for agricultural businesses evaluating how generation, storage and controlled power conversion can be integrated around real site demand and operating requirements.

Funded Infrastructure

Funded Infrastructure. Metered Energy Supply.

For qualifying projects, Vector structures funded energy infrastructure under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement. The client purchases metered energy rather than funding the contracted equipment upfront, while the infrastructure is developed, operated and maintained through the agreed project structure.

  • No upfront equipment purchase for qualifying funded projects
  • Long-term PPA structure
  • Metered energy supply
  • Infrastructure responsibilities managed through the agreed project structure
  • Subject to project approval and final documentation
Funded solutions remain subject to technical, commercial, credit, property, regulatory and funding approval. Final scope, pricing and terms are determined through site-specific assessment and approved project documentation.
Suitable Site Indicators

Signals a Site May Qualify for Assessment.

Vector reviews each site individually. The following indicators help identify sites suitable for a commercial energy assessment.

  • Material recurring site electricity consumption
  • Stable operating site with assessed load profile
  • Suitable electrical infrastructure and site access
  • Site owner/operator approval possible
  • Load profile suitable for technical assessment
